Hamstrings - mechanics, injury and rehab

25 Nov 2020
Theatre C

We will look at how the hamstring muscles work and highlight important considerations in their functional biomechanics. Injury mechanisms and tissue changes will be considered, and common treatment techniques examined from the point of view of evidence based practice. Developing a rehab programme from treatment couch to return to play will be the main thrust of the lecture.

N.B. this lecture is based on a lecture series due to be published in Co-Kinetic journal in 2020, expanded from these two blog posts: http://www.norrishealth.co.uk/hamstring-injuries-part-1/ and here http://www.norrishealth.co.uk/hamstring-injuries-part-2/
