This presentation explores matrescence— the powerful, transformative journey from womanhood to motherhood. Often overlooked, matrescence involves profound physical, emotional, social and identity shifts, which must be understood and celebrated, instead of being made fun or belittled. By embracing and understanding matrescence, we can enhance traditional healthcare models and ensure that women feel seen, heard, and supported.
Becca Warburton, a Pregnancy specialist Soft Tissue Therapist, and Anna Maria Mazzieri will be discussing the evidence behind the neurodevelpmental changes happening during this special time and presenting how the experience of massage can provide a space for mothers to understand those changes and reconceptualise their impact.
Expect to come out of this highly informative session with a changed view on how impactful pregnancy and motherhood care you provide can be.
