Falls in the elderly is a massive worldwide societal problem. In the EU and UK every year 1 in 3 elderly people fall, resulting in 3.5 million fractures, leading to a significant number dying. Costing our health services £40bn per year.

Ageing and disability lead to poor mobility, a deterioration of balance and weakening of the musculoskeletal system. This can be addressed by screening and assessing a person’s risk of falling and then targeted balance training which decreases the risk of falls.

Currently there is no mainstream fully dynamic falls screening / rehab device available. This is where Formula Motion comes in. A new care pathway to screen and reduce the occurrence of falls.  Our vision is that screening of the 65/70 age population for risk of falling will be undertaken using the Formula Motion technology.
