SISSEL® EPIFLOW Kinesiology Tape –
Welcome to the future of taping
EPIFLOW Tape has a positive effect on muscle, joint, and ligament injuries associated with pain, overload, inflammation, swelling, and instability. EPIFLOW Tape is used preventively or as a therapeutic support, particularly for sports injuries. The tape's easy-to-shape, longitudinal activation tab enables manual mobilization of skin areas and deeper tissue. This provides a broader range of applications as a supportive aid in scar treatment and local lymphatic drainage.
Application on scar tissue
: Doctors and physiotherapists alike report very positive results from using the tape for scars. Regular application on healed scars can loosen the scar tissue and promote blood circulation around the scar. Patients report significantly improved sensation and a visible and noticeable improvement in the surface texture after use.
After instruction from a specialist, patients are easily able to perform the application themselves. This simple opportunity for self-initiative increases the motivation of patients to actively participate in therapeutic measures.
EPIFLOW Tape is used in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and (competitive) sports to improve muscle function, regulate muscle tension, reduce pain and treat other orthopedic and non-orthopedic problems. It can also be used as a supportive aid in scar treatment and local lymphatic drainage.
Correct use:
1.) Protective strip
Remove only the middle protective strip on the back of the tape.
2.) Creating the activation tab
Fold the EPIFLOW Kinesiology Tape lengthwise. The removed protective strip in the middle of the tape will stick this part together.
3.) Preparing the corners
To ensure optimal adhesion, we recommend cutting the corners straight. Rounding them off as required in conventional kinesiology applications is not necessary.
4.) Applying the tape
Now remove the two remaining protective strips of the EPIFLOW Kinesiology Tape and apply the tape WITHOUT TENSION. The necessary tension will be created later during the treatment.
5.) Movement and activation
Now grasp the activation tab of the applied EPIFLOW Kinesiology Tape with your thumb, index and middle finger at the level at which you want to activate the tissue. Pull the tape away from your body until a certain amount of tension is created. Now, slowly and in a controlled manner, while maintaining the tension, make 5 clockwise circles, then 5 counterclockwise circles. Repeat this process at as many points along the tape as you like. We recommend repeating this process 3 times.
