About Health Match BC

Health Match BC is a free health professional recruitment service in British Columbia (BC), Canada and is part of BCHealthCareers.ca. Since 1999, we have supported the recruitment of Canadian and internationally educated clinical pharmacists, diagnostic medical sonographers, medical laboratory technologists (MLTs), medical radiation technologists (MRTs), occupational therapists (OTs), and physiotherapists (PTs).

Our role with BC Health Careers is to support allied health professionals interested in working in BC by offering expert advice and information on licensing, financial supports, job opportunities, and immigration. We have successfully helped thousands of healthcare professionals establish their careers in BC’s public healthcare system.

Make a Difference While Making a Living

Allied health professionals are highly valued and respected in BC. You will find competitive compensation, collaborative and innovative practice environments, and supportive government-led healthcare initiatives. Whether you are interested in rural, mid-sized or urban areas, you will find rewarding and dynamic career opportunities across BC.

With strong Indigenous roots and multicultural cities, BC is Canada’s most culturally rich province. Nearly 30% of the population was born outside of Canada, contributing to a vibrant mix of communities and neighbourhoods.

An outdoor enthusiast’s paradise, BC offers an abundance of activities amidst breathtaking natural beauty. In the warmer months, the province’s varied terrain invites hiking, cycling, kayaking, surfing, and camping in lush forests, tranquil lakes and scenic beaches. In the winter months, parts of BC become a destination for skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. No matter the season, BC delivers an unparalleled outdoor experience, making it easy to stay active and experience the great outdoors.

Financial Support

British Columbia continues its commitment to help internationally trained allied health professionals kickstart their careers in BC’s healthcare system. The funding available through the bursary program aims to keep skilled professionals in the public sector while providing them with the support they need to succeed. Financial support is available for internationally educated physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Streamlined Pathway for Physiotherapists

The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) have introduced a new Pre-Approved Credentialling Pathway (PACP) that will expedite the application process for internationally educated physiotherapists from the UK and Ireland interested in working for BC’s public health employers.

The PACP aims to expedite the licensure process and decrease timelines for eligible applicants, enabling them to begin working in BC faster.
