Chris Martey
Musculoskeletal Clinical Lead Physiotherapist (Primary Care), Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
Chris is an Advanced Practice musculoskeletal First Contact Physiotherapist in primary care in the South West of England, and prior to this he worked in a specialist Rheumatology setting as a senior Physiotherapist, where his passion for rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases started. Chris also works in a non-clinical leadership role in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan as the University Health Board’s multi-professional education and training clinical lead.
Chris is a former Executive Committee member for the British Society for Spondyloarthritis (BRITSpA) and former Clinical Advisor on Versus Arthritis’ Adult Inflammatory Research Advisory Group. Chris has a keen interest in healthcare leadership, strategy, and policy, and currently sits on the Board of Trustees as the Vice-Chair of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) in his second term.
Chris is dedicated to raising quality standards and advocating best practice for the National Health Service in which he works and has an enthusiasm for supporting and developing multi-professional education and training.
