Julia trained as a nurse in Cardiff qualifying in 1990. She started working in primary care in 2002 and completed an MSc in Advanced Practice.
Having always had an interest in education & supervision she became an educational lead at a training practice with multiple trainees. This led to her being invited to train as a GP Trainer and she completed the PG Cert in Medical Education.
She now works as an Associate Post Graduate Dean form medical education and GP Training Programme Director for both GP training and Foundation Training.
Julia is a keen supporter of interprofessional education. She has led many local and national Advancing practice workstreams and is aware of the many opportunities and challenges that advanced level practice presents to primary care clinicians.
