Training Development Manager, State Registered Nurse and Resuscitation Officer, Lubas Medical
Matthew qualified as a nurse in 1996 obtaining a BSc (Hons) degree from Bournemouth University. He has 25 years nursing experience in both the community and hospital settings. He has worked in vascular surgery and trauma/orthopaedics, as well as for the acute response team and as a community nurse. He started working for Lubas Medical as a Senior Training Officer in August 2013. Matthew is qualified to teach CPR, AED and first aid through his qualifications and experience as a Nurse, but is also qualified in Advanced Life Support (ALS). He completed his PGCE in further education at Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2018. He is an experienced instructor on the Sports Trauma Management course as well as on the First Aid for Sport and Exercise (FASE 1 & 2) and Cricket Safe courses, which he co-wrote with Paul Lubas. Matthew has formed part of Lubas Medical’s pitch side medical team for the last 20 years working at the Millennium Stadium, Sophia Gardens, Trent Bridge and Cardiff City FC.
