Renato Silva completed his Physiotherapy Diploma in 2011 in Portugal. Subsequently he worked with the Portuguese Rugby Union before moving to the UK. In 2015, Renato completed the King’s College MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy, furthering his knowledge in MSK conditions and gaining a deeper interest and passion for the management of Long-term Pain conditions. In 2018 he completed his Non-Medical Prescribing qualification from Oxford Brookes University and was able to set up a Medicines Optimization clinic at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. Renato has worked across several different hospitals and services as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in MSK/ Orthopaedics and Pain. He is also an external Lecturer for the University of Southampton Pain Module for undergraduate students. In 2022, following his passion for innovation he joined the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme which has provided the platform to explore the future of sustainability and innovation in the NHS. Renato is currently working for Connect Health as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Pain for Hertfordshire and Hammersmith and Fulham services, and he is also the Clinical Lead for South West Essex community Pain Services.
