Moving the shoulder

Moving the shoulder

25 Nov 2021
Theatre C

Assessment and treatment of the shoulder is often performed seated and passive on a treatment table but yet we rely on our shoulder for a range of tasks in both open and closed-chain movement. Following a quick review of the layered arrangement of soft tissue around the shoulder we will explore the many possibilities for mobilisation and re-training strategies.

All of the techniques shown can be performed with the client fully clothed. The principles learned during the session can be applied to seated positioning as well as to work with other areas of the body.

During this session we will explore and practice many strategies to painlessly and safely improve range of motion around the shoulder complex.
