Treating the Long Covid Client: Considerations, Modifications and Suggestions

24 Nov 2021
Theatre A

As a massage therapist, many of us are self-employed and were unable to operate normally during the pandemic. Treating Covid-19 infection was presenting new challenges to the medical world and to many allied health professionals.

Yet as we emerged from lockdowns we were reading about and seeing clients with Long Covid. But what exactly is it? How do we know if we can safely treat it? What do we need to know about this new pathology?

These were some of my own personal concerns and so I embarked on a journey of learning to inform my clinical practice and seek out evidence-based research to support my understanding of how best to treat the Long Covid client. In this presentation I will share what I have learnt so far with you.
